In May 2025, Sumbawa Regency experienced a year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation rate of 1,81 percent.

In May 2025, based on the monitoring results from Statistics Indonesia of Sumbawa Regency, an inflation rate year-on-year of 1.81 percent was recorded, indicated by an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 106.27 in May 2024 to 108.19 in May 2025. Meanwhile, the month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate showed a deflation of 0.72 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate stood at 1.1 percent.The y-on-y inflation was driven by price increases in nearly all expenditure groups. The food, beverages, and tobacco group rose by 1.34 percent; clothing and footwear by 2.51 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 1.14 percent; furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance by 0.32 percent; and the health group by 2.42 percent. Significant increases were also seen in the recreation, sports, and culture group at 4.91 percent; the education group at 0.75 percent; the food and beverage provision/restaurants group at 0.98 percent; and the personal care and other services group, which recorded the highest increase at 13.77 percent.
