Abstract

In March 2019, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced deflation about 0,22 percent, in other words Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased from 134,22 in February 2019 to 133,93 in March 2019. While, the national level experienced inflation about 0,11 percent.
Looking at the regional level, both Mataram and Bima city experienced deflation which were 0,17 percent and 0,40 percent, respectively.
Deflation was due to decreasing price index of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 1,11 percent; and and housing, water, electricity and fuel about 0,21 percent. Meanwhile increasing price index occurred in several expenditure groups as follows: health about 0,77 percent; clothing about 0,47 percent; prepared food, beverages, cigarette and tobacco about 0,25 percent; education, recreation and sport about 0,05 percent; transport, communication and financial services about 0,00 percent;.
Inflation rate of Nusa Tenggara Barat in March 2019, based on calendar year, was about 0,04 percent. It was lower compared to March 2018 which was around 0,65 percent. Meanwhile, inflation rate of year on year in March 2019 documented at 2,44 percent which was also lower than the inflation rate of year on year in March 2018 that was about 3,30 percent.
